The Task Manager

Its a system application software that found in Windows Operating System.For using task manager you can view running task & processes, also manage them on your computer. Task manager also allows you to view overall performance of your computer.


How To Access Windows Task Manager

Windows allow you many different ways to open Task Manager, Here the different ways down below.

  • Ctrl+Shift+Esc  (Keyboard Shortcut)
  •  Alt+Ctrl+Del  (Keyboard Shortcut) & select “Task Manager”
  • Windows Key+X  (Keyboard Shortcut) & select “Task Manager”
  • Right-Clicking on the Taskbar & select “Task Manager”
  • Open Run (Windows Key+R) type taskmgr hit enter.
  • Type taskmgr in the Search text box & click on taskmgr.exe or Task Manager.
  • In  Windows 3.x, 95, 98 there are application call tasks that act like Task Manager. For open this go to C:\Windows directory & click on taskman.exe

Description Of Task Manager’s Tabs

Application Tab

This tab is found in Windows 7 & earlier version’s Task Managers. This tab shows all open programs running on your Windows Computer.

Most of us use this tab to “End Task” of stopped or not responding programs, In Windows 10 & 8 users can find this END Task in the processes tab.

Processes Tab

This tab is found in all version of windows its shows all running process on your computer. From the Windows 8, they combine Application and Processes tab into the Processes tab in addition to the processes & services.

Services Tab

This tab is found in all version of windows its shows all of the Services that currently running on your computer.

Performance Tab

This tab is found in all version of windows its shows your computer’s system resources, that include CPU, Memory, Storage Drive, & Network usage. A newer version of windows system’s Task Manager also shows the chart of this usage, and there is also a link available for Resource Monitor.

Networking Tab

Network Tab is not found in Windows 10 & 8 other then that all version of windows has Network Tab. Its shows all network traffic happening on your computer including WiFi traffic.

Note: In Win 10 & 8 processes tab will show Network Tab’s details.

User Tab

This tab is found in all version of windows it shows information about who logged in to your computer & its show all user’s usage information. In Win 8 Processes tab will show user information.

App History Tab

This tab first comes in Windows 8 system its shows an overall history of each windows App that has run on your computer.

Startup Tab

This tab first comes in Windows 8 system its shows what programs added in windows startup time. Here you can select what program can start with windows startup.

Details Tab

This tab first comes in Windows 8 system its shows full details of each running process on your computer.

To stop Not responding programs from the running task we use task manager’s End Task option to stop the program it can help you to use your computer without doing a Restart.
